Gift of Life strives to provide the highest quality services possible in the advancement of its mission. Below is a list of Gift of Life’s industry accreditations, state licenses and federal registration.
World Marrow Donor Association
Gift of Life's Registry is accredited by the
World Marrow Donor Association. The goal of WMDA accreditation is to promote harmony between worldwide stem cell donor registries and cord blood banks and encourage uniformity of practice based on WMDA standards. WMDA fosters international collaboration to facilitate the exchange of high quality hematopoietic stem cells for clinical transplantation worldwide and to promote the interests of donors.
National Marrow Donor Program
Gift of Life’s Marrow Donor Program and Cord Blood Program both participate in the National Marrow Donor Program and meet annual NMDP compliance requirements. Gift of Life and NMDP are contracted as associate donor registries.
New York State Department of Health
Gift of Life’s Marrow Donor Program and Cord Blood Program are both licensed by the New York State Department of Health.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration
Gift of Life is registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the activities it performs recruiting bone marrow / blood stem cell donors and mothers who donate cord blood. Gift of Life also participates in the NMDP sponsored IND for cord blood.
American Association of Blood Banks
The stem cell cryopreservation lab where the “Gift of Life Cord Blood Program at UMass” ( Worcester, MA ) is located, is accredited by the AABB.
