Hi guys,
If you're not already on the bone marrow registry, I want to encourage you to get on it. Gift of Life is the Jewish registry, though all registries are linked around the world. It costs $54 and there is a 1% chance you could be called up, this a 1% chance that you could save someone's life... a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things!
All you have to do is sign up online and they will send you a cheek swab in the mail, and you send it back to them and you're in the registry. Simple! This is definitely for all my American peeps. if you're outside of the US, I encourage you to contact international registries of any lymphoma and leukemia societies in your area.
Because marrow matching has to do with genetics, it is more likely that if you are Jewish, you will match a Jew, and there aren't nearly enough people currently registered. So please please pay $54 and be in the bone marrow registry, and contribute to improving someone's statistics at a second chance at life: http://www.giftoflife.org/give/default.aspx
Lotsa love,
- Gabi
