Summary Statement
The Graphic Design Specialist performs a variety of print functions. These include the design and layout of printed and digital collateral materials and graphics for advertising, public relations, recruitment, education and fundraising activities. In addition, the Graphic Design Specialist performs routine and complex duties in the preparation of printing specifications, using a variety of graphic design technology and computer software, coordinating in-house production and outside vendor services.

Responsibilities
- Prepare design layouts, specifications and mechanicals for books, journals, posters, banners, displays, brochures and other printed and graphic materials.
- Collaborate with departmental management to develop design concepts, gather information, discuss alternatives, gain approval and review publications;
- Design multi-channel campaign assets: Conceptualize and create on-brand visuals for social media, email, web, print, and experiential initiatives that support marketing and business goals.
- Monitor scheduling and overall job production and turnaround time, coordinating interrelated activities with others to promote efficient workflow;
- Liaise with staff members, vendors, illustrators, printers and copywriters to communicate job specifications and to ensure deadlines are met;
- Participate in the development of audiovisual and powerpoint presentations as needed;
- Analyze and select proper paper stock, ink, type, illustrations and printing techniques to be used in final production;
- Work closely with the organization’s software development team, and event coordination and marketing / communications staff.
- Ensure brand consistency: Serve as a brand steward, ensuring all visual work adheres to established brand guidelines while allowing room for creative evolution
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in print and digital design and marketing; prior work with non-profits, fundraising and events a plus;
- Must possess strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, creativity, innovation, flexibility, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and focus as priorities shift and the willingness to assist with all tasks needed to ensure the success of an event or project;
- Ability to manage multiple projects, balancing competing deadlines, and working within a project management system to track progress and ensure timely delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and oral and written communication skills are essential;
- Have helped maintain brand systems, ensuring consistency while adapting core brand elements for multiple platforms and use cases.
- Highly proficient in design tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, with a growing interest in emerging design technologies.
- Must take a team approach and be willing to assist as needed;
- Have excellent communication skills and are proactive in keeping stakeholders informed each step of the way
Physical Demands
This position is basically sedentary with some walking, standing, stooping, and lifting required. May lift objects weighing more than 20 lbs.
