Welcome to my Team Page! It is my goal to raise funds for Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation, one of North America’s public bone marrow, blood stem cell and umbilical cord registries. For many suffering from Leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers, and genetic diseases, there is now hope for a cure through a transplant. That is, of course, if a match and donor can be found...

I will never forget the phone call I received from my youngest daughter, Nicole, last January. Minutes before this call, she was notified that she has the power to save someone's life through a bone marrow transplant. The sound of her voice was unable to hide that she was smiling from ear to ear from this opportunity of a lifetime. At that moment, I felt that I could not been prouder of my daughter...

My pride, however, did grow. It grew over the days leading up to Nicole's donation on April 7, 2011, during her recovery, and after. It grew over the summer when Nicole and her two friends, Yehuda Wolfset and Sacha Isaacson, organized 7 Gift of Life swabbing drives in various summer camps in which 207+ new swabs were added to the registry. That is 207+ potential lives saved!

I know that my pride did not end there. Unfortunately, many swab kits are unable to be processed due to the high cost of $54 a kit. I am proud to say that Nicole and her two friends put together a Gift of Life Team to compete in Poland Spring's 5 mile run on October 30, 2011 in Central Park to raise money for this cause. I will also say that I am a PROUD member of this team!
