What do veterans and marrow donors have in common?
They are all heroes!
You can be a hero, too. Heroes Recruiting Heroes wants you. Our goal? Add 5,000 new marrow donors to Gift of Life Marrow Registry by December 7, 2019. You have the power to cure blood cancer, sickle cell disease, and inherited immune disorders. All it takes to find out if you are someone’s lifesaving hero is a quick swab inside your mouth.
Step up, swab, and join the fight to cure blood cancer.
Who started Heroes Recruiting Heroes?
Ryan Paton is a man who gives back: to his family, to his community, and to his country. He is a son, brother and a new dad. He frequently donates blood and platelets and volunteers in his community. He first became involved with Honor Flight (https://honorflightsouthflorida.org) in 2011 when his brother suggested it. Ryan started out as a Guardian for a WWII veteran going on the flight, and that emotional event turned into a lifelong commitment to the Greatest Generation. Ryan enjoyed one-on-one time with the veterans listening to their stories, and over time these heroes became part of his family.
When Ryan learned that his dad had blood cancer and needed a stem cell transplant, he turned to these heroes and asked them to join him for an urgent mission.
The goal is to grow the Gift of Life Marrow Registry, so everyone battling against leukemia, lymphoma, or 100 other diseases can find a transplant match to cure them.
You can join us in this mission:
Invite us to your school, church, or event to swab individuals 18-45 years old.
Share the veterans’ plea to join the registry on your social media
Get involved and run drives in your community
Sponsor the lab processing of a new donor's swab kit. Each kit costs $60.
Our goal is to swab 5,000 individuals by Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 2019.
