III Points is partnering with Gift of Life to give participants at their Factory Town events the opportunity to join the registry and potentially save a life.
Located in Hialeah, Miami’s “City of Progress,” Factory Town is committed to fostering a community of dancers and other creatives that is bigger and more inclusive of South Florida’s uniquely diverse population than any large venue before or since.
All walks of life are welcome in this multi-acre outdoor space to participate in our community marketplace, engage with like-minded individuals over South Florida’s blossoming fine arts scene and dance from sunshine to starlight at some of the hottest international music festivals in the U.S.
On Earth Day, April 20, 2024, the III Points event will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to celebrate with food, music, nature, and the Earth. A star lineup of Miami’s best music scene will be featured on five stages, along with a cinema, food, activations, and more.
Gift of Life will have several donor recruitment tables at the event. With just a simple cheek swab and a quick questionnaire, volunteers can join the registry to learn if they are a match for someone battling blood cancer or another life-threatening disease. Donating stem cells is a process similar to giving platelets or plasma.
A transplant can only work if the donor and the patient share the same Human Leukocyte Antigens, a tissue type inherited from our parents, like hair and eye color. Since this factor is inherited, the best chance of finding a donor will be someone who shares your same genetic heritage.
Because the registry is not yet diverse enough, many people of diverse backgrounds have a lower chance of finding a lifesaving match – but you can help change the odds simply by joining the registry.
Gift of Life is actively searching for donors of diversity to help the many patients who do not yet have matches in the registry. You could be the hero for someone from your own community without even realizing it! Help save the life of a child or adult by joining the registry on Earth Day.
Healthy Donors Needed: Anyone in general good health between 18 and 35 years old may join the registry. Click on the blue "Join Registry" button above right.

Run a Donor Recruitment Drive! One of the best ways to help build a more diverse registry is to run a donor recruitment drive at your business, school, place of worship, or in your community. Gift of Life will give you the training, materials, and support to get your drive organized and to publicize it. What happens at a drive? You set up a table where people can complete a swab kit and register to join Gift of Life. Every swab kit from a potential donor could be someone who saves a life!
