Avrohom Mordachai Fastag is a beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle.
On May 8th, 2013 our lives changed in an instance with the words you have Leukemia. That has begun a race that seems to have no end. Mordachai has a type of Leukemia called Acute Myelogenous Leukemia with a FLT 3 Gene Mutation. Simply put “When a FLT3 mutation occurs, normal healthy blood cells may turn into leukemia cells (blasts). I like to think of the FLT3 mutation as a light switch. When the mutation has been triggered, the light switch is on and the body cranks out the blasts instead of healthy cells.”* The only way to stop this is to find a bone marrow donor BEZ”H
Mordachai went into remission with his 1st round of Chemo unfortunately it only lasted 2 weeks. He cannot remain in remission without a bone marrow match. He is now undergoing a second round of chemo and we are praying this one will get him into remission and a match will be found and ready at that time.
We are asking you at this time to please join the bone marrow donor registry to see if you are a match for Mordachai. All you need to do is register for a cheek swab kit either at a drive in your community or you can register on line here to order a testing kit to be sent to your home.

Currently we are working hard to raise funds to test samples with the hope Mordachai’s miracle match will be found. Each testing kit costs $60.
Thank you in advance for all your help for Avroham Mordachai b’ Chana and possibly many other lifesaving matches.
