Sherwin Williams

Service is one of the seven guiding values of Sherwin Williams. From a social perspective, Sherwin Williams gives back to the community through The Sherwin-Williams Foundation and extensive employee volunteerism. Sherwin Williams employees look forward to a new opportunity to share the wonderful benefits that a “Gift of Life” has to offer our organization - education, volunteer, commitments, to become a donor, etc.

Gift of Life is a non-profit organization that is determined to find matches for everyone in need of a bone marrow transplant. Since inception, Gift of Life has saved over 3,800 lives through faciliation of bone marrow donations from selfless individuals across the US. Two stand out to us- a transplant for their CEO and Founder, Jay Feinberg, who just celbrated 25 years since his successful transplant. The other is one of our very own staff members who took the time to donate to a perfect stranger and change their life and the lives of everyone touched by them forever.

How can you help?

  • Join the registry: please swab your cheek and join the registry – YOU may be someone’s perfect match! You can order a kit by pressing "Get Swabbed" above. A kit will be sent directly to your address after completing a quick health questionnaire to ensure you are in good health to donate. You will ONLY donate if you are deemed a perfect match for a patient in need.

  • Contribute funds: Processing each volunteer donor’s swab kit costs $60 to find out if they are a match for a patient in desperate need. Click “Give to My Circle” to the right to donate money.

  • Share our story: At Gift of Life we believe every person battling blood cancer deserves a second chance at life — and we are determined to make it happen. We are singularly passionate about engaging the public to help us get everyone involved in curing blood cancer, whether as a donor, a volunteer or a financial supporter. It all begins with one remarkable person, one life-changing swab and one huge win — finding a match and a cure. Click on "Share This Donor Circle" (above right) to spread the word.

*Gift of Life recognizes that many volunteers are passionate about joining the registry and helping to save a life. However, purely from a biological standpoint and in the interests of what is best for the patients in need, transplant physicians have asked the worldwide registries to recruit donors as young as possible (over 18). This is due to clinical reasons that improve transplant outcomes. Statistically, over 85 percent of transplants take place with donors in this age category. Donors who are between the ages of 36 to 60 (inclusive) may still join the registry but will either need to cover the $60 cost of the test or be placed in the queue for processing after the donors in the other category are tested. We urger those over 35 to share this link with others to join or donate to sponsor the cost of a kit for someone else.*
