I wanted to share with you something important that has happened to our family. Last month on March 10 our son Austin was admitted to the hospital with an alarmingly low blood count. Five days later he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). We were shocked and heartbroken for him and his future. He has started chemotherapy and next month will start the process of looking for a stem cell donor. He is in good spirits today and we are prayerful that a stem cell match be find quickly.
That's where you come in. The number of African-American donors registered is low, and diversity is important to improve chances for a match. All it takes is a cheek swab to learn if you are a match for Austin or another patient awaiting a lifesaving transplant. If you find you are not eligible to donate please consider making a financial donation on our campaign page. Each donation helps people test for free.
~Sincerely,
The Caruthers/Scott Family
