>Barbara needs a lifesaving match! Order your swab kit and find out if you are her hero.
Barbara is a resident of West Palm Beach and she was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Her doctors have recommended a blood stem cell or marrow transplant as her best chance for a cure.
Our goal is to help Barbara find her matching donor. Because the tissue type factors that determine matches are inherited from our parents and ancestors, similar to how we inherit hair and eye color, her best chance of a perfect match is with someone who shares her genetic heritage.
That could be you! All it takes is a swab of your cheek to find out if you are a match for Barbara or another patient in need.
Barbara is Ashkenazi, so her best chance for a match is among the Ashkenazi population, and those of related Eastern European origins.
Barbara was the head of Meyer Academy in West Palm Beach for 13 years, worked at Prudential Insurance as a financial professional for more than ten years, and is currently a Rabbi who reaches out to the unaffiliated Jewish community in South Florida with education and guidance.
Although her husband and the love of her life has passed away, she has steady companionship from “Dr. Beau”, her loyal Yorkie, who Barbara says “has his Ph.D. in human manipulation.”
Together we can help her beat this diagnosis and get her back to living.
