Have you joined the bone marrow registry yet? 

ALL eligible adults should get on the registry just in case you are a match for a patient with a life threatening blood disease such as Leukemia or sickle cell anemia.  

Imagine having the good fortune to donate some of your healthy stem cells to a patient in need!  You may save their entire life!!   What a gift you could give!  

What I need from you today: 

1)  Simply fill out the online form here ("Get Swabbed") and they will send you a swabbing kit in order to collect cheeks cells.  You will need to be between the ages of 18-35 and it will be free to you. (see why age matters) If you are age 36-60, you can also join but they ask that you cover the cost of the test kit which is 60 dollars.   You will need to be in reasonable health.  Check here for conditions

2)  Swab your cheek and send it back right away.  There are thousands of patients waiting for a suitable match right now.  Their lives are in the balance.  

3)  If you are a minority especially, please do not hesitate!  The statistics are not favorable for certain groups and that's why it's so so important to join the registry today.  The numbers are shocking: 75% of Blacks, 75% of multi-racial individuals, 55% of Latinos and Hispanics, and 60% of Asian Americans do not have a perfectly matched donor in the worldwide registry
