Over the past few years, I've become very involved with an organization called Gift of Life. My journey started during my Junior year at George Washington University when I was swabbed at a Hillel event to enter the bone marrow registry. Although I didn't know it at the time, Gift of Life would become a very important organization to me. Just 5 years later, I was contacted as a potential match for a man with Lymphoma, a disease that also effected my father just a few years earlier. I donated Peripheral Blood Stem Cells in August of 2009 and am thrilled to report that both my father and recipient are doing well.



My first hand experience with the success of Stem Cell and Bone Marrow transplants through organizations like Gift of Life, led to my involvement in starting the Gift of Life Young Professionals Committee (YPC) this past January. We have launched our First Annual "Swab-A-Thon" in order to encourage young people to join the registry. I have personally committed to raise $5,400 (100 kits) and 20 swabs (20 people to join the registry as potential donors). Please help me reach my goal!
