As many of you know, my connection to Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation is extremely personal. My husband, Ben, was a stem cell donor, two times around, for the very AWESOME and AMAZING Morgan, now 10 years old. Seeing the donation process through from beginning to end has given our entire family such an appreciation for this organization. Coming from a household of fanatic (crazy, insane, obsessed...any of the above) runners, there's nothing that makes more sense than to run the NYC Half-Marathon to support Gift of Life. For those who don't know about it, Gift of Life is a leading bone marrow, blood stem cell, and umbilical cord blood registry that finds matching donors for patients suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers and genetic disorders.
Please support my efforts and join me in the mission to save lives. Every year thousands of patients are diagnosed with illnesses that require stem cell or marrow transplants. Only about a third of the population has an HLA-matching sibling donor available for transplant. The rest must rely on a complete stranger to save their life. That's why Gift of Life needs your help to continue its lifesaving work!
Your tax-deductible donation is used to add new donors to the worldwide bone marrow registry.
Please click the button to the right to donate online or you can mail your donation to 800 Yamato Road, Suite 101, Boca Raton, FL 33431. Please note my name on the memo line of your check.
Thank you!
