YOU CAN SAVE A LIFE BY CONTRIBUTING $60!
On May 28, 2010, our daughter, Joely Ramo, was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia. Our lives changed in a split second, when the doctors told us that Joely needed a bone marrow transplant to survive. Scott and I always say, “As incredibly unlucky as we were for Jojo to get this disease, she was just as lucky that Jack (her brother) turned out to be her match.”And he was not just a match, but 10 out of 10 which gave her the best chance of a successful transplant to beat her disease. Over the past two years we’ve come to know so many people that desperately need a match but unfortunately can’t find one. We need to get as many new donors as we can into the registry so we can help give them a fighting chance. The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation has the same mission as we do, commited to saving lives.
Although it is free to have your cheek swabbed, the fact is, it actually costs $60 dollars per kit to have them processed in the lab.
The Gift of Life has a substantial waitlist of donors that have already been swabbed but they do not have the funds to send these kits to the lab. This means these kits will not enter the Registry until the funds are raised. We need to help support the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation by donating funds. For every $60 dollars we raise, we have the possibility of saving a life.
Please help support our mission, to get as many kits as possible onto the Registry. We cannot imagine if our son Jack had not been a match for Joely. I hope together we can all make a big difference and save lives!!!
Thank you for your support and love.
Love,
The Ramo Family
