I signed up to run the NYC Marathon to support the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. I first learned about the Gift of Life when my nephew, Yitzi Zisblatt, became a donor a few years ago.  I ran my first Half Marathon through Gift of Life this past March and had such a positive experience that I decided to try to run my first marathon also through Gift of Life.

Gift of Life is a leading bone marrow, blood stem cell, and umbilical cord blood registry that finds matching donors for patients suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers and genetic disorders.

Please support my efforts and join me in the mission to save lives. Every year thousands of patients are diagnosed with illnesses that require stem cell or marrow transplants. Only about a third of the population has an HLA-matching sibling donor available for transplant. The rest must rely on a complete stranger to save their life. That's why Gift of Life needs your help to continue its lifesaving work!
