The Jewish Community Heroes campaign of the Jewish Federations of North America honors those making strides to repair the world, starting in their own communities. In 2010 hundreds of outstanding nominees applied and over three hundred thousand votes were cast.
Twenty top semifinalists were selected, and the distinguished panel of judges narrowed it down to the Top 5 Finalists. The winner was announced at the 2010 General Assembly help in November in New Orleans. And the 2010/2011 Jewish Community Hero is …. Jay Feinberg!
The $20,000 prize was applied to testing 463 bone marrow donors for the Gift of Life Registry, and the outcomes will be tracked real time on this Donor Circle page!
