Both brothers, King and Ace, are in urgent need of lifesaving transplants! Order your swab kit and find out if you are the hero who matches one of them!
Older brother King is 12 years old, and younger brother Ace is 6. They both have a very rare inherited immune deficiency which prevents their bodies from making the correct type of white blood cells, leaving them chronically susceptible to infections.
Both boys need blood stem cell or marrow transplants from matching donors in order to give them fully functioning immune systems. With transplants, they will have a chance at normal lives free of constant illnesses and repeated treatments.
King and Ace both receive immunoglobulin via intravenous infusion every four weeks, and each procedure takes six to seven hours. Without finding transplant donors, their prospects are difficult, and both of them have been hospitalized at times to fight infections.
Their mother, Denisha, says that the condition runs in their family, and two of her brothers who were born with the same immune disorder did not survive.
The family has turned to Gift of Life in the hope of finding donors for both King and Ace. King loves playing football with his friends and gaming on his computer, and Ace enjoys Roblox on his iPad, and playing basketball.
Help us find donors for both of these boys so this beautiful family -- which also includes their four sisters – can return to normal.
If you are 18 – 35 and in general good health, please join the registry today!
The boys' best chance of finding matching donors is among those who share their African-American ancestry.
Only 29% of African American and Black patients are able to find a match, so more donors are needed to join the registry and help save lives. We need everyone to be tested!
