My younger sister was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia and to survive, she needed a bone marrow transplant.  There is only a 25% chance that a sibling will be a match, the rest of the population must rely on a complete stranger to save their life.  My sister was lucky, my younger brother was found to be her match.  But, while she was lucky, I have met many other kids at different hospitals who are not as fortunate and need to find their heroes.

Joining the bone marrow registry is really easy and only takes a few seconds and simple swab from the inside of your cheek.  Eligible donors must be between the ages of 18-60 and in general good health.  Although swabbing is easy, most people are not aware that it costs $60 to take a kit “off the shelf” and sent to lab for processing.  Our club, “Off the shelf” raises money to test kits and add new donors into the worldwide bone marrow registry so that more matches can be found for all patients in need.  Money will be raised through bake sales, art galleries, and many other activities.  All monies raised will be donated to Gift of Life and Gift of Life will use 100% of the proceeds to send kits to the lab.

There are thousands of people looking for transplants who need help, and Gift of Life is an amazing organization that helps to find bone marrow matches for those who desperately need them.  Gift of life is incredible because they swab thousands of people through the year.  Unfortunately, it costs money to enter these kits into the donor registry.  You have a chance to help SAVE A LIFE!  We will follow the kits that are entered into the registry from funds that we raise.  This is a charity where we can make a difference for Life!  Please help us make this difference and GIVE!  When we find a match for someone, you won’t believe how special that moment is! There is nothing compared to the satisfaction one feels when they see that they really made a difference and literally saved someone’s life.

For every $60 dollars we raise, we're giving patients hope.  It only takes one donor, one hero, to save a life.  Please help get as many kits into the bone marrow registry and find as many matches as possible.
