My name is Pantea, I am 37 years old, and I have been diagnosed with Leukemia (AML) on July 19th 2015. I live in Toronto and married to my loving husband, and we just had our first baby 7 months ago, a wonderful baby boy. Before I get sick, I was working fulltime as regulatory affair for medical devices. I was happy and healthy, and I had lots of dreams for my family like any other mom. During my maternity leave, I suddenly got sick and went to emergency room. Since my diagnosis, my life turned upside down. I could no longer care for my beautiful little boy. I had to stay at the hospital for 6 weeks for my first round of chemotherapy, so I was not able to touch or hug my baby during that time. As part of my battle against cancer I need a bone marrow transplant to survive and recover fully. Unfortunately, I relapsed after first chemotherapy because they weren’t successful finding my match. Now, I am going through another intensive chemotherapy and if I don’t transplant right after, I can’t survive anymore. So I am desperately asking anyone (male and female) to do a simple cheek swab test and potentially become a proud donor and an angel to me or other patients like me.
