My name is Shoshana Korn and I'm excited to run a 10K in Jerusalem to support the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation.
This is the third time I'll be running in the Jerusalem Marathon, the second time I'm raising money for the Gift of Life, and the first time I'll be running a 10K!
Gift of Life is a leading bone marrow and blood stem cell registry that finds matching donors for patients suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers and genetic disorders.
Please support my efforts and join me in the mission to save lives. Every year thousands of patients are diagnosed with illnesses that require stem cell or bone marrow transplants. Only about a third of the population has an HLA-matching sibling donor available for transplant. The rest must rely on a stranger to save their life. That's why Gift of Life needs your help to continue its lifesaving work, continuously recruiting new potential donors. Each new one represents another chance, another possibility, for a person suffering from a life threatening illness.
My run and your support are also in honor and memory of my grandmother, Rosalie Katchen, and my cousin Rachel Simon, whose lives were extended through transplants that came from the generosity of strangers. Your donation honors the legacy of continuing kindness and hope that these two special women left behind.
All funds raised will go towards testing new donors. As a sponsor you will be informed by e-mail of all the matches and transplants that result from our team effort. This could be in six months’ time or ten years’ time.
On an ongoing, long-term basis, you will know the precise impact of your support.
Please click (top right) to donate online or you can mail your donation to 800 Yamato Road, Suite 101, Boca Raton, FL 33431, USA. Please note my name on the memo line of your check. You can also phone 1.561.982.2900.
Please ask me how to make a Shekel donation.
The Marathon is on March 18! On your mark, get set, go!
Thank you!
