Steve is a 61-year-old loving husband, father of three, and grandfather of 2 young granddaughters. He has been a leader in the Jewish community, active in the local shul, Yeshiva day school, and Mikveh association. He is loved and respected by so many. Steve was diagnosed last summer with leukemia. The medical experts have concluded that a bone marrow transplant is the only way to cure this disease. Unable to find a full match, the transplant team decided to try with Steve’s son who was a 50% match. The donation held for 6 months, but now the leukemia has returned. The doctors believe that Steve’s best chance for defeating this disease is to find an unrelated donor match from the Jewish Ashkenazic community. Please do a great mitzvah to be tested today to see if you are a possible match that can save Steve’s life or maybe the life of someone else looking for a match.
*Update: It is with great sadness that we share that our loving husband and father Steve Albert A"H has lost his battle with leukemia and passed away at the end of January 2022. We are grateful for the dedicated support from Gift of Life for helping us search for a bone marrow donor. We understood during our most recent bone marrow drives that they might not be in time to help us but that maybe in Steve’s merit, a match might be found for someone else. This is Steve’s legacy to continue helping others. We will keep this donor circle page open for donations in Steve’s memory so that funding can be available for other patients who may benefit from it.
With love and appreciation,
