Gift of Life is set to host their annual One Huge Night Miami Gala recognizing and honoring the people that help Gift of Life save lives and accomplish all the remarkable things they do. The gala is set to take place on Monday October 30, 2023, at Queen Miami Beach.

UGBC’s Senate discussed its efforts to publicize Project Life’s upcoming visit to Boston College on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26 during its meeting on Tuesday night. "So there are people that are fighting blood cancer and other blood disorders, and their last chance at survival is a life saving transplant from someone that is on the registry to donate stem cells or bone marrow," said Meghan Heckelman, UGBC vice president and LSEHD ’25.

My son donated bone marrow on the Monday before Rosh Hashanah, on September 11th. Moed was cool and composed the entire time, but I wasn’t. We used to live in Washington, DC and we live in New York now, so I traveled to DC to be with him at Georgetown Hospital.

Annie Blair Eisner began writing her memoir when she was 18 years old. Her chapter titles included "A redhead named Annie"; "A bris for my finger"; "The time I failed my driver’s test"; and "When life hands you leukemia." But this was not Annie’s final chapter of the memoir. Her fifth chapter was entitled "Trendsetter." "Being sick was just a chapter of her life — a part of it — but it wasn’t what defined her," Jodi Eisner, Annie’s mother, said.

Clemson doctoral student Erika Hwang is helping save a total stranger by donating some of her peripheral blood stem cells. Hwang is working with Gift of Life to help save a man suffering from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia by donating peripheral blood stem cells. Her first donation was in December 2022. She is scheduled to make a second donation to the same patient on Sept. 11.
