A Message to our Supporters, and an Appeal for 2009

We have received calls and messages from dedicated supporters and the media concerned about the recent news regarding Bernard Madoff. This statement provides two important facts that we want our supporters and the media to know:
1. Gift of Life's finances were
not managed by Madoff Investment Securities, and as such did
not suffer losses like those of other organizations reported in the news.
Our registry operations are sound and secure.
2. Unfortunately, losses incurred by some of our contributors understandably impacted their charitable giving plans and commitments. The funds we raise enable us to recruit more bone marrow donors and grow the size of our registry. Therefore, we seek alternative sponsorship so we can achieve our recruitment goals.
