Gift of Life is pleased to announce the launch of its very first iPad App! The App makes it easy for new potential donors to sign up and join the registry with a simple cheek swab kit sent to their home. Current donors can update their contact information or changes to their health status and stay in touch on the go! All users can watch videos, read current articles and even receive notifications from the registry of potential matches!
The App was developed by Gift of Life’s Information Systems Department. Rafi Freudenberger, the Director, recounts, “Gift of Life has a history of innovation, having been the first to use cheek swabs at donor drives instead of blood draws, and the first registry to let donors register online. It seemed only natural to be the first registry to have an App that lets you register as a donor, keep your information up to date, and stay informed.” He added, “Having an App that’s always present on a user’s tablet and is capable of providing updates on an ongoing basis is very compelling for us and we are confident that this will help us be more engaged with our supporters and donors.”
The Gift of Life App is compatible with iPad (requires iOS 4.3 or later) and available for free on iTunes now! Gift of Life looks forward to developing future Apps for the iPhone, Android devices and more!
