Team Gift of Life and 2012 NYC Half Marathon

For the second year in a row, Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation has been selected as a charity partner for the New York City Half-Marathon taking place on March 18, 2012. The New York City Half -Marathon provides each runner with a unique experience. Racers will run through some of the City’s most famous landmarks including Central Park, Midtown Manhattan, and Times Square, all before finishing along the Hudson River waterfront. This race features all styles from the serious competitors to the leisurely runners. Each year, more than 10,000 runners take part in this event.
Gift of Life is currently accepting applications to join the Team and has secured entry for ten runners. By joining Team Gift of Life and committing to raise $1250, runners will have guaranteed entry into the Race and also receive an exclusive Team t-shirt.
Money raised this year will once again be used to add new donors to the bone marrow registry. Each donor test kit costs $54 to process. With your help, Team Gift of Life will be able to add more than 230 kits from our waitlist to the worldwide registry. Last year’s 2011 Team rose over $21,000 and sponsored more than 380 new donors.
