Boca West Donates $17,500

May 01, 2014 by Gift of Life News
On Monday, March 31st, The Boca West Community Charitable Foundation held its Second Annual $100,000 Charity Golf Tournament.  The day included a day of golf and cocktail reception, followed by a Diana Ross concert.

Initiated in November of 2010, the Boca West Foundation identifies and funds projects to assist children and their families in need in the Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County areas.  The group has raised more than $700,000 to support thirteen local charities including Gift of Life.  To date, Gift of Life has received close to $40,000 to help process test kits for potential donors to join the worldwide bone marrow donor registry.

As part of this year’s golf tournament, five foursomes competed on behalf of Gift of Life, placing fourth overall and receiving a $17,500 donation.  Players included friends, supporters, and relatives of our Gift of Life family, such as Andrew Francis, Jordan Becker, Justin McAiney, Harold Schneider, Chris Zehetmaier, Craig Ferguson and others.

The teams played for four hours and were joined by Gift of Life’s Chief Operating and Financial Officer, Gregg Francis.  He said, “We were extremely successful in the golf tournament, which was great, but the biggest joy was being a part of something that is going to help children prosper.”  He added, “I had the pleasure of meeting some of the staff and volunteers of the other charities that also benefited from this event, and I cannot emphasize what a great job they all do.”

Gift of Life thanks all of those who participated on our behalf!  We look forward to representing Gift of Life with pride in 2015.
