I recently celebrated my transplanaversary. Someone asked me, "How long was my transplant good for?"I was taken aback. No one had ever mentioned this to me. I thought for a moment, what if my illness came back? Over the years, the idea has come to me but I had always pushed it away. Now, someone wanted to know, 5 years, 10 years?
I am celebrating 14 years post transplant. I don't know the exact answer. My doctors tell me, I have nothing to worry about. But it is always in the back of my mind. I choose to celebrate life everyday. To look for the miracles and the goodness in life. I am so grateful for these past 14 years and the ones in the future!
Together, we can make the future for someone else too!
