Summary Statement
The Recruitment Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving donor recruitment efforts to grow the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. In collaboration with Recruitment Specialists, this role develops and oversees outreach initiatives, collaborations, and our Campus Ambassador Program that inspire individuals to join the registry primarily on college campuses. The Recruitment Manager ensures all recruitment activities are executed in accordance with organizational standards, regulatory guidelines, and performance goals—advancing our mission to save lives through cellular therapy and transplantation.

Responsibilities
- Directly supervises Recruitment Specialists, providing coaching, mentoring, training, and performance management, including performance evaluations, corrective actions, and input on hiring decisions in collaboration with the Donor Recruitment Director.
- Oversees the Campus Ambassador Program with a focus on student retention, program growth, and alignment with organizational goals and recruitment priorities.
- Works with the Donor Recruitment Director to design and implement annual recruitment strategies, including planning, budgeting, oversight, and resources for college and other recruitment initiatives.
- Coordinates and monitors donor recruitment drive schedules to meet recruitment goals within established budgets.
- Oversees scheduling, approves time off, and reallocates resources to ensure seamless department operations and service coverage.
- Provides onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development for new and existing staff to strengthen recruitment capacity and minimize turnover.
- Establishes and tracks achievement metrics to evaluate program and staff performance.
- Ensures staff compliance with all standard operating procedures and policies
- Builds strong relationships with existing and new recruitment partners to maximize partner recruitment opportunities to increase donors in the registry
- Works with Donor Recruitment Director to design and execute a yearly plan focusing on strategy, outcomes, and development for college recruitment including planning, budgeting, oversight and documenting all aspects of assigned projects.
- Ensures coordinated drives—patient-driven, community, campus, convention, and corporate—are executed efficiently and in compliance with organizational standards.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with recruitment coordinators and partner organizations to maximize donor recruitment opportunities.
- Promotes a culture of excellent customer service across all recruitment activities.
- Ensures pertinent information is recorded into MatchQuest™ (in-house proprietary software).
- Ensures that the educational component of registry orientation is adhered to.
- Sets up and monitors achievement metrics for the team.
- Travels as required to support recruitment operations.
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned to support the success of the recruitment department.

- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team; experience in supervising staff, managing performance, and fostering professional growth.
- Strong skills in developing, implementing, and evaluating recruitment strategies, outreach programs, and partnership initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire, educate, and influence diverse audiences including students, community partners, and corporate stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in cultivating and sustaining partnerships with universities, community organizations, and corporate entities to drive engagement and recruitment outcomes.
- Ability to analyze recruitment data, monitor key performance indicators, and adjust strategies to optimize results.
- Willingness to travel, work evenings/weekends, and adapt schedule to meet program and recruitment needs.
- Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Compassion, empathy, and sensitivity when working with patients, families, volunteers, and donors; motivated by Gift of Life’s lifesaving mission.
- Background in community engagement, program management, recruitment, event planning, or nonprofit leadership, ideally within healthcare, higher education, or volunteer-driven organizations is preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new systems.
Physical Demands
This position is basically sedentary with some walking, standing, stooping, and lifting required. May lift objects weighing from 0 to 20 lbs. with occasional lifting of objects over 20 lbs. Travel is required.
