Welcome to my Team Page! It is my goal to raise funds for Gift of Life
Bone Marrow Foundation, one of North America’s public bone marrow, blood stem cell and umbilical cord registries. For many suffering from Leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers, and genetic diseases, there is now hope for a cure through a transplant. That is, of course, if a match and donor can be found...
Finding out that I was a match and hold the power to save someone's life was mind boggling. I went through with the donation on April 7, 2011 and cannot be prouder. My new friend, thank God, is doing well and was discharged from the hospital. I write him letters, hope that God continues to watch over him, and cannot wait for the day we have the opportunity to meet each other.
As a tribute to my new friend, I organized a number of bone marrow drives with two friends in the sleep away camps. At these drives, 207 new swabs were added to the GOL registry- that is 207 potential lives saved! Thank you to all of those that swabbed! Tizku La'mitzvot.
Unfortunately, many swab kits are unable to be processed due to the cost of $54 a kit. I am running with the Gift of Life Team in Central Park on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. hosted by Poland Spring to raise money and help find matches for those in need. Help GOL find someone’s miracle.
Your contribution will cover the cost of the growing registry by sponsoring additional cheek swabs that will be used to test potential donors!
