Dave Fromson was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in October of 2019. Thankfully, when he was told he needed a transplant, a match was found for him quickly. On day +7 post-transplant, the hospital shut down for COVID-19, Dave could no longer have visitors, and his spirits were low. Little did he know that a year and 4 months later, he would be meeting his life-saving donor.

This donor circle has been created to coincide with a swabbing drive after Dave's boss and friend, Johnny Martinez of Martinez Fire Protection, was incredibly moved by the videos, photos, and stories about the ceremony at Gift of Life in which Dave met his donor, Josh, for the first time. He wanted to do something to help the organization right away. Everyone who works with Dave was impressed with his donor's selfless act and his sense of duty for donating when called upon. The idea of possibly saving someone's life made it an easy choice to set up this circle and drive to get as many of Dave's coworkers registered as possible.
