My name is Heather Ellis. I am passionate about finding people to join the bone marrow registry. In the summer of 2020, when I was 19 years old, I was diagnosed with a rare lymphoma (a blood cancer) called Gray Zone Lymphoma, Stage 2b. I had to go through many different treatment types: chemotherapy, proton radiation, IVF Therapy, Immunotherapy, and an autologous stem cell transplant. A stem cell transplant, also known as a bone marrow transplant, gave me another chance at life. I had my transplant on September 28th, 2021 and a year later, on August 9th, 2022 had found out that it put me into remission. 

Because of my illness of blood cancer and being able to have that new chance of life, I am dedicated to helping others receive that same chance as me. All it takes is a few minutes… with a few mouth swabs, and a health form… you could be giving someone their new chance at life.
