#Match4Mylz

In February 2021,  Mylz a happy, healthy, sweet baby that loves to smile came down with an ear infection and he went to his local doctor for a check-up. After receiving antibiotics, Mylz' face began to swell. Morgan took Mylz to the hospital after his condition seemed to worsen and to everyone's heartbreak was diagnosed with High Risk B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and Gene Mutation. After receiving over a month of chemo, spinal taps and treatment Mylz was released from  the hospital as his count went from 547k to less than 1%. Unfortunately, Mylz started having seizures and was taken back to AI Dupont where the oncology team discovered that the cancer is chemo resistant and that he will need CAR T-cell therapy and a bone marrow transplant in order to survive. 

Mylz is of biracial ancestry because he is Caucasian / African American, his best chance of a match is with someone who is also biracial. 

Mylz is 15 months old and loves his older sisters, Remy (16 years old) and Hope (6 years old).  He never misses an opportunity to stop, smile and say hello!. He loves blowing bubbles and playing hot potato with his sister Hope who he adores. His favorite food is mashed potatoes especially on chemo day. Mylz loves sharks and dogs watching dog videos. 

Through this journey Mylz has smiled through the most challenging times. In life people tend to idolize champions and their achievements. We can't think of a greater champion than this fighter. 

WHAT YOU CAN DO

  • Donors may join the registry on turning 18. Donors over the age of 35 can join the registry but we ask that you to please donate $60 to offset the lab fees – Click here to learn why.

• Sponsor a swab kit. Click on the orange "Give to My Circle" button. Lab processing of every kit costs $60. Your contribution will help add new donors to the registry, who may be a match for Mylz or another patient.
