Kyle Newbold is in the fight of his life, battling a bone marrow disorder at just 31 years old. He's not willing to let Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) defeat him. His strong network of support includes his mother, Patricia Newbold, a nurse who has dedicated 46 years of her life to helping others through their health challenges.

At the beginning of 2024, a year after his recent marriage, Kyle's health deteriorated rapidly, leading to hospitalization in the Intensive Care Unit and the Oncology ward. He has had aggressive medical care including blood treatments and chemotherapy, with his wife by his side, praying daily that he overcomes this challenge.

Kyle is preparing for another round of chemotherapy. But this is not enough. He urgently needs a blood stem cell or marrow transplant from a matching donor to regenerate healthy blood cells and give him a fighting chance at survival.

The cost and complexity of his circumstances are daunting. Time is of the essence and we are desperately seeking a stem cell or marrow donor match. You could be the lifeline he needs to fulfill his dreams with his loved ones.

How You Can Help

You could be Kyle's match! Matches are based on factors called human leukocyte antigens (HLA) that are inherited, similar to the way hair and eye color are inherited. The best chance of a match is with someone who shares a similar genetic heritage. 

We are appealing for individuals to test their suitably to donate who are:

• of African or Bahamian ancestry
• between the ages of 18 and 35  
• in general good health

Join the registry and start the process of testing. The process is simple, and a testing kit will be sent to eligible donors at no cost.

Kyle remains hopeful, fueled by faith and the support of his family. Together, we can give Kyle the chance he deserves to live a full and joyful life.
