In October of 2014, I was identified as a 100% match for a 2-year-old boy suffering from hemophagocytosis and was able to donate my bone marrow to help save his life. On January 17, 2016 I finally got to meet the little boy that taught me what life is about. Mario is fun loving and a sweetheart that has a long road ahead of him.
This was an extraorginary experience in my life that has opened my eyes to the fact that 1 in every 200 donors ages 18-30 will be called a match for a patient in need. Currently there are way more people in need of match than there are donors. Together we can improve those odds.
