Hey there! My name is Mitra Mars and I am a Recruitment Specialist based in Orlando, Florida at the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. My job is to assist Gift of Life in our mission to give every person battling blood cancer a second chance at life, one swab at a time.

                Gift of Life is an international public bone marrow and blood stem cell registry that works with patients to ultimately find them a life changing transplant. The more heroes we have on the registry, the better the odds a patient has at finding a perfect match. Our heroes are usually between the ages of 18-35 which makes working with campuses a vital source for recruiting potential new donors.

                Right now there is a huge discrepancy between the percent chance between different ethnicities in finding a match. My goal, especially of Asian/Caribbean descent, is to help even the playing field so that one day everyone will be able to have the same chance of finding a match no matter their background.

                Becoming a superhero and joining our registry is as simple as a cheek swab and a quick online questionnaire.
