Yossi Mazurek, a local Riverdale resident and SAR/MTA/Gush/Columbia University alumnus in his 20s, was diagnosed with Cancer only months after marrying his college sweetheart, Sara. Yossi is an avid biker, rock climber, snowboarder and hiker, and had just started working as a business analyst at a major IT firm when he was diagnosed.

A worldwide search for the only hope for a cure  - a fully matched bone marrow donor -  unfortunately did not produce a donor so desperately needed. Unable to wait any longer, Yossi recently received a bone marrow transplant from his sister -  though it was only a half-match. We are still hoping for its success.

Gift of Life has run - and continues to run - many bone marrow donor registration drives in an effort to find a full match for Yossi.

This year, Yossi's mother and father - Ruth and Nathan - are biking Discover Hudson Valley Ride on June 24, 2018 to help support #YossiStrong and Gift of Life. Please considering registering to be a donor and/or contributing here to support testing of cheek swabs to find his lifesaving donor. An anonymous donor has agreed to match any contributions up to $5,000.
