Livingston Native Donates Stem Cells to Save Florida Mother’s Life

A 22-year-old Livingston native who donated stem cells to an anonymous Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma patient said the intrusive procedure was worth it when she had the opportunity to meet the recipient, a 40-year-old South Florida mother, at the Gift of Life 5K recently held at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, FL.

Graduate student Zoe Miller swabbed her mouth with a Q-tip in the summer of 2014, not knowing that one day it would change lives. Miller went on a birthright trip to Israel where everyone in her group swabbed a Q-tip that put them in the Gift of Life Marrow Registry as potential stem cell and bone marrow donors.
