Since its founding in 1990, CooperSurgical has been dedicated to providing medical equipment and procedure solutions to improve healthcare for women across the United States. Based in Trumbull, Connecticut, Cooper’s mission is to advance the well being of women by offering health care solution based on sound clinical results. Not only are they dedicated to medical advancement, CooperSurgical is also very committed to giving back to the community.
Thomas G. Williams, Vice President of Business Assurance and Regulatory Affairs at CooperSurgical, initially contacted Gift of Life because he wanted to provide an opportunity for his staff to join the bone marrow registry. Through “Cooper Cares,” a division of the company that focuses on employee health and wellness, Cooper hosted a health fair at company headquarters on June 13. Cooper generously sponsored donor kits and staff members from “Cooper Cares” were there to educate their coworkers about joining the registry.
Gift of Life is appreciative to have CooperSurgical’s support. Shayne Pilpel, Lead Recruitment Coordinator at Gift of Life, looks forward to collaborating with CooperSurgical again in the future. “We are truly grateful for the support that we receive from CooperSurgical. They are very much in synch with Gift of Life’s mission to save lives. We look forward to establishing a long relationship with CooperSurgical,” said Shayne.
CooperSurgical made it simple for employees to become volunteer bone marrow donors by offering the chance to swab at their health fair. By getting your company involved with Gift of Life, like CooperSurgical, you create a collective experience for your staff team that can potentially lead to saving someone’s life. Hosting a donor drive educates your employees about becoming a volunteer bone marrow donor and gives them a unique opportunity to save a life. If you are interested in organizing a donor drive at your company’s health-fair, please contact Recruitment at recruitment@giftoflife.org.
