Eric donated to save a young man, and was humbled by his recipient's letter of thanks
Eric and his wife at a Gift of Life event.
In 2004, Eric lost his friend to breast cancer, and that loss spurred his need to do something to help others. So, that same year, he joined the Gift of Life Marrow Registry at a drive in Toronto. He went on with his life, never expecting to get a call saying he was a match. He believed even being considered as a match was like winning the lottery, a one-in a-million chance. He felt great about joining and knowing he could help someone if called, but he wasn’t expecting anything.
