The Thanksgiving tradition at the start of the holiday season has expanded over the years to become a multi-day event, each with a unique focus: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday.
The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is now a national – even international – day of giving to charity, when we balance our spending on family and friends by supporting the many worthy causes that rely on funding from contributors to do their work.
This year Giving Tuesday falls on November 29, and people around the world will participate in this day of philanthropy and volunteerism during the holiday season. You don’t have to be a world leader or a billionaire to give back. Giving Tuesday is about ordinary people coming together to do extraordinary things.
You can contribute by visiting www.giftoflife.org/givingtuesday, and by sharing the link with others. Please give generously, as up to $25,000 that is donated online will be matched by an anonymous contributor.
In 2016, Gift of Life celebrated 25 years of saving lives, and hit a major milestone with our 3000th lifesaving bone marrow transplant.
Help us kick off our next 25 years with even more matches for blood cancer patients in need. On Giving Tuesday, we will be raising money to cover the cost of laboratory fees associated with tissue-typing cheek swab kits.

#GivingTuesday 2016 was a huge a success, with generous supporters helping us surpass our goal for a final total of nearly $64,000. This will help add over 1,000 new donors to the registry, bringing hope to patients in need of matching donors.
