January 18th, 2015 was a warm, beautiful day in Boca Raton, Florida as Gift of Life’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, William Begal, took to the stage to welcome nearly 500 attendees to the Fifth Annual Walk for Life.
In a month filled with school spirit, Gift of Life is asking Hillels across America to "compete" against one another to raise awareness and promote the importance of registering to become a bone marrow donor and saving lives.
This fall, hundreds of Gift of Life’s volunteers and supporters walked and ran up and down the East Coast of the United States, raising awareness and over $100,000 at three Walk for Life events.
“SOS” is Morse Code for distress. Now, it is also an urgent call to action to “Save Our Sami,” a six year old girl who is in urgent need of a bone marrow transplant. Sami is the apple of her parents’ eyes
Hadi and his wife immediately decided to join the registry after they heard a radio ad announcing the search for the miracle match of a young girl in need of a transplant. The recruitment drive they attended was held at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. Hadi said, “My wife thought it would be a good way to honor our daughter who had died on that day two years back to see if we could save a life.
